I am running Notes Client 6.5 and I send mail directly to the internet via SMTP. I have an associate at another company that uses 6.0.1 CF1 server and client.
This morning I created a calendar entry for us to meet, and I invited him. The invitation went out to his internet address, and immediately after his server received it, it crashed. He brought the server back up again, and it crashed again. He had to delete his email database from the server. We believe this prevented the server from crashing because the server did not attempt to "deliver" the document to his mail database. Then he was able to get the server back up, and delete the message out of Mail.box.
Later on in the day, I decided to delete the offending calendar entry. You can guess what happened next. My friend's server received the cancel notification and crashed again!
We are going to attempt to set up a test environment to determine the exact cause of the problem, but at this point it we are guessing it's a compatibility issue between 6.0 and 6.5.
Any advice on how to prevent this from happening again would be most appreciated.
